Living on an island means being part of a community that depends on each other. 💙 Supporting local businesses isn’t just about convenience, it’s essential for our community survival and growth. When local businesses struggle because we are shopping off-island or online and not supporting them, they will close! This is a reality and will reduce our access to essential services and take jobs away from people who need them. Local businesses are owned by our neighbours, friends, and family members who invest in our community by sponsoring local events and supporting social programs. Local businesses can do their part as well. If there are opportunities to pass on savings to residents, it is important to do so and strengthen loyalty to your business; so that when someone thinks of going off island to buy a product, they will remember the deal they got from your business and shop there again. There are many ways our local businesses strengthen our community, so it's important for our community to help strengthen the local businesses of our island.
