Spring is finally here and the beautiful days of summer are fast approaching. Town of Fogo Island is preparing for 'Spring Clean–up' weeks. This is a perfect opportunity for residents to clean up around their properties and make them more presentable for the upcoming tourism season.
The Town will be offering "FREE RESIDENTIAL DROP OFF "between May 5th – June 15th . Residents can drop their 'Spring Clean- up' items to the transfer station during regular working hours for FREE.
Following is the schedule for PICK UP for each community:
May 24-27 : Tilting , Joe Batt's Arm
May 30 – June 3: Barr'd Islands, Shoal Bay, Fogo Island Central, Fogo
June 6-10: Island Harbour, Deep Bay, Seldom-Little Seldom , Stag Harbour
NOTE:
'Spring Clean- up' items must be on the curb side by the Sunday prior to clean up.
The Town will be travelling through each community one time only.
Regulations for Clean Up weeks are as follows:
- Residents are NOT permitted to use black garbage bags, all items MUST be placed in clear bags.
-NO Demolition material will be collected.
- Recyclable items will NOT be collected. Recyclable items such as cardboard, plastic containers/buckets must be placed in blue bags and placed out on your regular garbage day.
- All materials MUST be separated into piles of wood, metal, electronics and furniture. Any garbage NOT sorted will be left for the responsibility of the homeowner to discard.
