YOUNG CANADA WORKERS
The Town of Fogo Island will be hiring for two (2) positions under the Young Canada Workers program. These positions last for approximately 13 weeks for Post-Secondary Students and 8 weeks for High School Students or until August 28th, 2019.
2 Student Interpretive Guides for the Marine Interpretation Centre (Primary worksite)
Open to Post-Secondary and High School Students
Student interpretive guides will be required to give guided tours with a personal twist that counts on their own family stories growing up in their community, to achieve a more "experience" based tour, rather than a regular tour.
Ideal candidates would be/have:
Good written and oral communication skills
Responsible and mature
Experienced in dealing with the public and public speaking
A passion for their community
Duties and Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
Cleaning and dusting
Giving guided tours
Organizing and archiving
Providing information about local sites and businesses
Light landscaping duties (lawn care)
Handling vessel request at the wharf
Processing donations and payments
Other duties related to the scope of work
Assisting in additional heritage properties as needed
